UPDATE: Round one of the Eastern Cape Regional Championships takes place on Saturday, March 4. The original race meeting was postponed due to rain. The event will feature three heats of Stock Rods (and a final), three heats of 1660s (and a final) and three heats of American Saloons (and a final) with between seven and eight competitors per race.
This Saturday (18 February) is the start of the 2017 oval track racing season for Victory Raceway. Oval track racing is stock cars to you and I – and all the bumps and bruises that go along with it.
Victory Raceway on the Schoenmakerskop Road (Victoria Drive) will host the first round of the Eastern Cape Regional Championships. This will include the Development, 1660s, 2.1 Modifieds, Heavy Metals and American Saloon classes.
Racing starts at 18:00 on Saturday evening, but gates will already be open to the public from 15:00. Parking around the circuit is R20 per car and tickets are R50 for adults and R10 for children younger than 13. Braai facilities are available for use and there will also be food stalls catering to the hungry and thirsty.
