First regional at Aldo Scribante Raceway for 2014

Saturday (8 February) sees the start of the regional championship season for Eastern Cape racers. They will tackle the Aldo Scribante Raceway circuit in Port Elizabeth for the first instalment of an eight-round championship.

Each of the categories racing on Saturday will contest three races – in addition to their warm-up and qualifying sessions. The racers will filed five categories on the day, the Regional Motorcycles, EP Regional Saloons, the Historic and Classic Saloons, the Marque Cars, Street and Fine Cars and Historic and Clubmans Motorcycles.

Warm-up sessions get underway from 09:00 on Saturday morning with qualifying to follow two hours later at 10:00. Race one sees the Marque, Street and Fine Cars on track at 12:15 with the final race of the day the EP Regional Saloons at 17:30.

Race length is either six or seven laps depending on category.

Spectator entry to the event is R50 per car, irrespective of number of occupants. More information is available at the Algoa Motorsport Club website or on Facebook.
